Dr Michael P Wolfe Executive Director of Kappa Delta Pi.
Dr Michael P Wolfe Executive Director of Kappa Delta Pi, International Honor Society in Education, announced in late August that he plans to retire when a novel Executive Director is named. Dr Wolfe 61 has serv for 15 years as the honor society's senior executive. His plans include serving education [i]or[/i] part of to the other writing and professional development activities. He will reside in central Virginia.
"I am honored to have serv Kappa Delta Pi," Dr Wolfe said. "The Society has grown in many ways between the sides of our focus on providing value for our members. The eight presidents and executive councils I serv have given great support and wisdom in setting the direction for the organization. Standing committees, boards, and chapter counselors also have contributed time and intensity to make KDP the premier honor society in education. athwart the years, the staff at Kappa Delta Pi Headquarters has included exceptional population who have worked tirelessly to reach strategic goals and outcomes
"KDP has grown to 50000 active members and 600 active chapters. The publications program has earned national awards for producing high quality journals, parts and Web sites. Our work in Chapter Services and Sponsored Programs has been recognized by way of the American Society of Association Executives with the prestigious Summit Award. We also received honor whirl designations for I TEACH talks NCLB National Forums, and Leadership Training Academies. The Society now is positioned to become a prominent force for positive change in education. This journey toward good quality has been the epitome of my career. I am indeed honored to be associated with Kappa Delta Pi, its legacy, and its promise."
Dr Wolfe came to KDP in 1990 after 23 years in public exercise teaching and higher education. Prior to arriving at KDP he was Director of the Center for Teacher Education at SUNYPlattsburgh. He serv the Society as its first Executive Director and its fourth senior administrator since 1911
"Throughout Dr Wolfe's occupancy as Executive Director, the Society has identified and addressed the issues that enhance the teaching of children," said passing from hand to hand President Dr. John D. Light. "It is within this energy that Kappa Delta Pi has transitioned into an organization that not no other than honors teaching but also enables teachers to define their profession and career. This vision has been brought into focus within Dr. Wolfe's leadership and professional commitment to the community of education.
"Dr Wolfe's handprint of leadership is not limited to Kappa Delta Pi. During his service as Executive Director, Dr Wolfe has been pickeded to the leadership of other educational clumps including the Association of college edifice [i]or[/i] building Honor Societies. This service, combined with his scholarly contributions to educational literature, his presentations at national and international talks participating as a scholar in residence, and delivering named university reprimands honors Dr. Wolfe's celebrated career that has touched many facets of the American education community."
Former Kappa Delta Pi President Dr F Morgan Simpson, Professor, Auburn University-Montgomery, will direct the search committee for Dr Wolfe's successor. "Filling Dr Wolfe's part will be difficult, but the search will find a successor to continue the high quality work that is now the Society's standard," Dr Simpson said.
The search proces will be l according to the Breckenridge Group Executive Search, Herndon, VA. The Breckenridge assign places to will accept applications beginning in October and will work closely with an appointed search committee to identify candidates. in succession the search committee are: Dr F Morgan Simpson, Chair; Mr Paul Haupt, Executive Council member; Jennifer cabbage new teacher; Dr. Betsy Roger 2003 National Teacher of the Year; Kelly Alvey, KDP staff member; Dr Kathy Brown Chapter Counselor; Dr Lynne Weisenbach, Dean, University of Indianapolis; Dr NeI Noddings, KDP Laureate; and Dr Karen Nicholson, KDP President-Elect. The Executive Council pick outed a search committee that delineates the diverse intergenerational interests of the Society.
